The First Tee Contra Costa

The First Tee® is national program of youth development that uses golf as the vehicle for teaching life skills and the nine core values: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence, Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy, and Judgment.

The mission of The First Tee is "To impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote positive character development and life enhancing values through the game of golf".

Q: When does the next session start?

A: During the year we offer 4 different sessions: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. You can visit our website thefirstteecontracosta.org to view starting dates for each session. 

Generally, Winter classes begin the second week in January; Spring classes begin mid-March, Summer Sessions start at the beginning of June, and Fall Sessions begin in September.
Registration for each session opens one month prior to classes starting.

Q: How do I sign up?

A: To register, go to our website thefirstteecontracosta.org and click the orange button on the top right corner labeled "Register". You can also visit the Parent Resources section of our website for a tutorial on how to create an account.

Q: When can I register?

A: To ensure your junior’s space in the class (class sizes are limited) please register as early as possible. Classes for younger levels (TARGET (5-6 years old), and PLAYer (7 and up and/or starting at The First Tee)) fill up fast. It is not possible to register in person the first day of class.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: $59-$109 depending upon level and session length.
Financial assistance is available. NO CHILD WILL BE TURNED AWAY DUE TO FINANCIAL REASONS

A: You may pay online at the time of registration

Q: How long is the program?

A: Spring, Summer, and Fall sessions meet once a week for 8 weeks. At the end of each session there is an assessment period. More information regarding assessments can be found here. Assessments are the process by which juniors move up from level to level.

Q: How do I become a volunteer?

A: Visit our website at thefirstteecontracosta.org for more information on how to become a volunteer. There are many different volunteer opportunities from coaching, to office and admin assistance and special events.
